The lady in black ~ frammin' and bammin' at martinsville
I bid you welcome gentle readers, to one of the throwback columns featuring that raving reporter, The Lady in Black. This one was done on the Martinsville race, October 19, 2003, one decade removed from today. Change was in the wind... R. J. Reynolds, the 30+ year series sponsor would end its tenure with the final race that year. but for this and the few races that followed, they were still racing for the Winston Cup, Bill France Jr. still kept a firm hand on the helm of the good ship NASCAR until year's end, and except that Dale Earnhardt was still dead, all was right with the sport. For those not familiar with or those that have forgotten the nicknames, you may access the actual race data, compliments of racing-reference.info by clicking here. |
